There is currently no safety standard for towing devices in the UK. As a result the TOWD Pole™© was taken to the German standards accreditation agency, the TUV, where it exceeded the required standard and was awarded the TUV accreditation & GS Mark and approved to 94/20/EC mechanical coupling directives.

TOWD Industries™© is currently working with the safety authorities in the UK to bring in minimum safety standards for towing devices.

  • static
  • fatigue and destructive testing
  • compressive and tensile shock loading
  • extensive road testing
